Wellshire Event Center reopens with kosher option

Wellshire InnThe iconic Wellshire Event Center — known for nearly a century as the Wellshire Inn — has become completely restored as a full-service events venue with a kosher option.

Under the supervision of Dovey Heller of TRI Sulom Kashrus, the completely upgraded kitchen now accommodates kosher events with customized kosher menus.

The new banquet kitchen, according to General Manager Chris Schild, enables the Wellshire staff to serve up to 650 meals in only 16 minutes.

The Wellshire is a stately English tudor structure with romantic architectural details.

Its configuration of spaces can accommodate events from 20 to 600 guests.

These spaces include the Mountain View Pavilion, an “outdoor” all-enclosed glass pavilion which can hold 280 seated guests; the Cambridge Room, a 350-seat banquet space, which features a spectacular view of the 9th and 18th greens of the Wellshire Golf Course, as well as Lake Wellshire and the Rocky Mountains; and the Tudor, Windsor, Hunt and Oxford rooms, plus the Onyx Lounge.

Schild says that because the Wellshire has all the equipment needed for all aspects of an event, such as weddings, Bar and Bat Mitzvahs, other personal celebrations, corporate meetings and parties, there is a great deal of flexibility in accommodating customers regarding budget, menu planning and physical set-up.

There are also 300 free parking spaces near the front door, so valet parking is unnecessary.

The facility’s location on the Wellshire Golf Course at Colorado Blvd. and Hampden Ave., with its views of the mountains, lends itself to outdoor wedding ceremonies.

Schild has joined Howard Torgove and Lawrence Atler,   who have been partners in ownership of  Wellshire for 37 years.

Over the past three years the partners have invested $2 million to completely remodel the former Wellshire Inn restaurant into an event center.
