Barbara Stark

Denver native Barbara “Batya” Stark passed away on February 22, 2024. She was 84. A service was held on March 1 at Emanuel Cemetery, officiated by Rabbi Steven Foster and Cantor Elizabeth Sacks. Feldman Mortuary made the arrangements.

Born on October 16, 1939, Ms. Stark attended East High School. She graduated from Vassar College where she studied literature and theater arts, and received her master’s in theater at DU.

Ms. Stark was employed by the US Army in Korea as a civilian, running a radio station while also managing American performers who traveled there to entertain troops.

She also lived in Israel, where she became fluent in Hebrew. Ms. Stark also lived in England and Palm Springs, Calif., where she lived at the time of her passing.

“She was talented and creative — a writer, student of Kabbalah and a practicing astrologer,” her family said.

Survivors are sister Susan Stark and brother, Dr. Raymond (Suad) Stark.
