Dr. Shimon Blau, the Denver doctor who announced July 5 that he wanted to run as an independent in Colorado’s Congressional District 1, has submitted the necessary signatures to the Colorado Secretary of State.

With the primary races over, attention turns to the November elections. For Jewish and pro-Israel voters in Colorado it is likely to be a mixed bag of options as progressive candidates swept two key races and younger voters came out in significant numbers for a primary. Statewide, more than 1.43 million voters, out of 4.02 million total voters, cast ballots in last week’s primary. 

Denver doctor Shimon Blau is trying to run as an independent candidate in Congressional District 1, challenging Democratic Primary winner Melat Kiros and Republican nominee Christy Peterson.
