John Hickenlooper at a planting ceremony at the Kennedy Memorial in the Jerusalem Hills, April 12, attended by JNF World Chairman Efi Stenzler.
They say that the best time to plant a tree is 20 years ago, and the second best time to do it is today, Hickenlooper said.
Colorado has 24 million acres of forested land, compared to 250,000 in Israel.
Stenzler pointed out that planting a tree is an expression of love for the country and a connection with its land and environment.
Regarding the location in which this tree was planted, Stenzler added, Tree-planting symbolizes the continuation of life. It is the best response to those who seek to cut a life short.
