Sixteen graduating seniors, proud members of Denver Jewish Day School’s Class of 2020, will celebrate an unforgettable moment in unanticipated settings on Tuesday, May 19, at 7 p.m. The traditional rite of passage, repurposed to meet COVID-19 regulations, will be conducted over Zoom and messaged on other platforms. Instead of walking two-by-two, graduates will wave at their gowned classmates onscreen. Funny videos and moving faculty tributes might elicit laughter and tears. After throwing caps at the ceiling for the bittersweet finalé, they will collapse in virtual arms of friends they’ve known since childhood.
