Theodore Yaron

Theodore YaronTheodore Yaron, a Holocaust survivor and ardent supporter of Israel, passed away April 19, 2009, in Denver. Rabbi David Zucker officiated at the April 21 graveside service at Rose Hill Cemetery. Feldman Mortuary made the arrangements.

“His drive and tough persistence helped him survive the Holocaust, immigrate to three countries and finally settle in Denver,” the family said. “His creativity and inventiveness made him successful as a professional engineer and a businessman.

“He instilled his passion for education in his children and grandchildren. Most of all, he was devoted to his wife Angela and his family.”

Mr. Yaron was born June 6, 1924, in Sibiu, Romania.

He married Angela Balus in 1947 in Bucharest, Romania. Mrs. Yaron passed away on July 21, 2004.

Mr. Yaron received his mechanical engineering degree in 1949 from the Polytechnical Institute Bucharest.

He then lived in Haifa, Israel, and Buenos Aires, Argentina before coming to Denver.

A mechanical engineer, Mr. Yaron owned the Luxurest Furniture Manufacturing Co. in Denver and then became a commercial real estate developer.

Certified as a professional engineer in 1965, he joined the American Institute of Engineers in 1968.

He received his MBA in 1974 from DU.

Mr. Yaron is survived by his sons Michael (Noonie) Yaron and Mark (Nancy) Yaron of Denver; grandchildren Rachel, Abbey, Maxwell, Madisyn and Paityn, all of Denver; sister Cornelia Vertenstein of Denver; and brother-in-law Laurian Balus of Rome, Italy.
