long-running dispute over allegations of anti-Semitism at a Colorado middle school is headed for federal court. In December, the family of Isabella Grunspan, the girl who claims she was the target of the harassment, filed a lawsuit in US District Court in Denver against Jefferson County School Districts, the US Dept. of Education and its Office for Civil Rights. The family is asking for $2 million in damages. The suit alleges that the school and district not only showed indifference to Isabella Grunspan’s charges of sustained anti-Semitic harassment at West Jefferson Middle School in Conifer, Colo. but retaliated against her and her father, Gabriel Grunspan, after they reported the incidents.
