Steve Mark comes to the Intermountain Jewish News after a lengthy tenure in Houston newspaper writing and broadcast news. Mark was a reporter for the Examiner Newspaper Group/Houston Chronicle, where he covered education and municipal government beats in Houston-area enclaves Bellaire, West University Place and River Oaks.
Mark also has a lengthy career in television news and sports in Houston, Tulsa, Okla., and Austin, Texas, and was honored by the Associated Press for the 1998 Sportscast of the Year. He was also cited by the AP for his breaking news coverage of the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta, and was part of the team at KPRC-TV honored for their 2001 coverage of Tropical Storm Allison.
The native of Chicago, Ill., attended the University of Texas at Austin. Steve’s wife Donna is a teacher at the Hebrew Educational Alliance.
