Welcome to the GA!

EVERY year, Jewish leaders from across North America – and guests from overseas too! – meet for the annual General Assembly (GA) of North American Jewish Federations. This year Denver is playing host next week from November 6-8, and enhancing and facilitating the three-day event is the IJN’s special Welcome to the GA magazine, packed with practical information about the Denver area, Colorado’s unique Jewish history and an interview with the Allied Jewish Federation’s Doug Seserman. Pick up your copy at the GA or order from Carol at (303) 861-2234.

Denverites are also participating in panel discussions throughout the GA, including the IJN’s Rabbi Hillel Goldberg who will be joining a workshop aimed for young journalists. Visit our Community Calendar for details.

Here’s a sampling of the features in the magazine:

  • Map of Downtown Denver, with GA meeting locations highlighted
  • Tourism Guide: Sights to see in the Denver area and in Colorado
  • Jewish Denver: The communities, facilities and amenities
  • Chris Leppek speaks with AJF’s Doug Seserman
  • Jews in Colorado? Tuberculosis, among other things, brought them
  • Jewry’s challenges – two perspectives
  • Colorado’s unique Jewish past – people, places and institutions
