Paul ‘Pete’ Gordon

Paul “Pete” Gordon, a leader for many years in Denver’s chemical industry, passed away Aug. 2, 2008 in Oceanside, Calif. Funeral services and burial were held there on Aug. 5.

Born in Denver on Oct. 2, 1928, Mr. Gordon was educated at the University of Denver and University of Illinois, where he earned a PhD in chemistry. He worked for some 30 years for the Denver-based Chemical Sales Company, beginning as a chemist and retiring in the 1990s as the firm’s president.

He married his wife Beverly in Denver in June, 1951. The couple moved to California following Mr. Gordon’s retirement.

In addition to the Colorado Chemical Club and other professional organizations, Mr. Gordon had been an active member of the Hebrew Educational Alliance and East Denver Orthodox Synagogue. He was also active with Phi Sigma Delta.

Surviving Mr. Gordon are his wife Beverly of Oceanside, Calif.; his son and daughter-in-law, Bradley and Petra Gordon of Santa Rosa, Calif.; his daughter, Shana Gordon of Oceanside; and his sister Shirley Johnson of Los Angeles.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Hebrew Educational Alliance.
