Dorothy Scott
Denver native Dorothy “Dotty” Scott died on June 26, 2024 in Naples, Fla., at the age of 87. A graveside service was held in Wilton, Conn. Cantor Harriet Dunkerly of Congregation B’nai Chaim officiated.
Born on Nov. 28, 1936, in Denver, Mrs. Scott graduated from East High School in 1954. By the time she graduated, she had become a classical pianist as the star pupil of the late Anne Pap.
Dotty Goldberg attended the University of Texas for one year and then CU Boulder. She married Joe Scott in 1957.
They lived in El Paso and Lubbock, Texas, then moved to Connecticut, where they founded a swimming pool business in Wilton, Conn. in 1972. Among their customers was the late Nobel Prize laureate, Holocaust survivor Elie Wiesel. The business continues to thrive. They retired to Naples, Fla. in 2014.
In the swimming pool business, Dotty Scott became the human resources manager. She wrote the monthly newsletter for Temple Shearith Israel, where the family was active. Upon her children’s graduation from college, she enrolled in Bridgeport University and earned a BS in 1988 from the College of Health and Human Services. She became a respiratory therapist.
She worked at Lifeline, volunteered for Meals on Wheels and made flower deliveries to domestic violence shelters. She and her husband opened their home to other children who needed love and shelter. She skydived in her seventies.
The Scotts were lifelong fans of theater and culture in New York City.
She is remembered as a loyal friend with a consistent smile and welcoming presence who made everyone around her feel like they were her favorite person. She enjoyed building up other people, her family said.
Mrs. Scott struggled courageously with ALS for the last seven years of her life. Her family noted that she had a tremendous will to live, so that, for example, though she could neither move nor talk, she made her desire clear to attend concerts, since her hearing was intact, and life was to be embraced.
Mrs. Scott was preceded in death by her parents, Max and Miriam Harris Goldberg and grandson Jared Scott. Survivors are her husband Joe; children Jordan (Karen) Scott, James (Carole Mills) Scott, Rebekah (Jerry Gonzales) Simon-Peter; Jeffrey (Corine) Scott; Jennifer; grandchildren Jessica, Jason, Max and Kate Scott and Michael Bergmann; brothers Charles (Honey), Hillel (Elaine) and Richard (Dahlia Zuter) Goldberg.

Kenneth Levine
Denver native Kenneth “Ken” Levine died on August 19, 2022. He was 64. A service will be held on July 18, 2024, at Emanuel Cemetery. Feldman Mortuary made the arrangements.
Born on July 16, 1958, Mr. Levine grew up in Lakewood. He graduated from Alameda High School in 1976 and three years later married his wife Terri in Aurora.
“Ken was very hard working, attractive, sensitive and funny,” Mrs. Levine said. “He was definitely a sales person. He could sell anything.
“The boys and grandkids take after him, for sure.”
Survivors include Mr. Levine’s wife Terri; children Jason (Heather) Levine and Adam (Jennifer) Levine; parents Arnold and Rhoda Levine; brothers Steven Levine and Richard Levine; and grandchildren Xander and Kellan Levine.

Dennis Barron
Denver native Dennis Jay Barron passed away on June 21, 2024, at the age of 70. A service was held at Rose Hill Cemetery on June 24, officiated by Rabbi Sarah Shulman. Shalom Funeral Service handled the arrangements.
Mr. Barron was born on May 2, 1954. He attended DeVry University in Atlanta, Ga., and became an IT support technician for IBM, where he worked for 32 years.
“His greatest joy was to spend time with his siblings as we considered ourselves as ‘The Three Musketeers,’” Mr. Barron’s family said.
“His siblings were blessed with the most amazing person and brother. He would say ‘super’ when something went well.
“On May 5, 2024, his family and friends attended his 70th birthday party for him. That party meant so much to him and to his family, and we will always cherish the memories. He fought gallantly through his cancer journey with dignity and grace.”
Survivors are Mr. Barron’s sister Sharyl (Steven) Barron; and uncle Stewart (Merna) Saliman.

Yvonne Fuller
Yvonne Fuller died on June 7, 2024, at the age of 87. A service was held in Detroit, Mich. Sawyer Fuller Funeral Home made the arrangements.
Mrs. Fuller, born on January 25, 1937, in Berkely, Mich., is the mother of Denver resident Halye (Ron) Bernstein.
Yvonne and Bill Fuller, Jr. met in high school and married in 1955. They remained a couple until Mrs. Fuller’s passing.
“Yvonne was known for her kindness, open heart and loving spirit,” her family said. “She never spoke a bad word about anyone and always saw the best in everyone she met.”
Survivors are Mrs. Fuller’s husband Bill; daughter Halye (Ron) Bernstein; grandsons William, Ryan, Tyler and Taylor, and great-grandchildren Abigail, Millie, Clara and Logan.
