Judie Schwartz, co-author of “Style Matters” and an energetic Temple Sinai volunteer, passed away June 11, 2018, in Denver. Rabbi Rick Rheins and Cantor Sheila Nesis officiated at the June 13 service in the Zwerin Sanctuary. Burial was held at Seven Stones Cemetery. Feldman Mortuary made the arrangements.

“Devoted to the Jewish community and the State of Israel, Judie was a longstanding member of AIPAC,” said her husband Jeff Schwartz.

Mrs. Schwartz was born July 22, 1951, in Washington, DC. She received her BA in history and a graduate degree as a reading specialist from the University of Michigan.

She married Jeff Schwartz in 1975, and moved to Denver in 1982.

Mrs. Schwartz did public relations for Fiddler’s Green for four years.

She became a household name as co-author with Evelinda Urman of the syndicated “Style Matters” column, which covered fashion trends, what to wear for specific occasions and cosmetic tips.

First broadcast on KNRC 1150 AM from 2002-2004, “Style Matters” debuted in print in the Rocky Mountain News. When the daily closed in 2009, the Colorado Statesman picked it up.

Popular speakers at Jewish events, the duo published Fashion Lover’s Guide to Denver in 2003 and A Fashion-Lover’s Guide to the Best Shopping in Denver and Beyond in 2008.

Invariably stylish from head to toe, Mrs. Schwartz never went anywhere without her dazzling smile and joie de vivre.

Judie Schwartz was the wife of Jeff Schwartz; mother of David (Katherine) Schwartz, Jonathan Schwartz and Kayla Schwartz; sister of Faye Zuckerman and Laurence Zuckerman; and grandmother of Lincoln.

Contributions may be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation or Temple Sinai.
