Those that knew her remember her as one of the most creative, outgoing, irreverent, bigger-than-life personalities they have ever known, the family said.
Her love for her family and her love for life were unmatched.
Barbara Tell was born in 1939 in Los Angeles. She grew up in Orange County near Disneyland.
She married Philip Avrin in 1959, and the couple moved to Denver 1965. They raised five children before divorcing.
After many years as a housewife, Mrs. Avrin ventured in the business world as a manufacturers representative. She built her company over 25 years, eventually setting up shop in the Merchandise Mart.
Mrs. Avrin is survived by her husband Glen Gedye; five children from her previous marriage, Daniel, David, Douglas, Lynette and Nicole; nine grandchildren; and her brothers Michael and Darryl Tell.
Contributions may be made in the memory of Barbara Avrin to the Womens Foundation, 1901 E. Asbury Ave., Denver, CO 80208.
