Leah Hauser
Native Denverite Leah Ann Hauser died July 31, 2026 in Santa Fe, NM. She was 83. Rivera Funeral Home made the arrangements. A memorial service is scheduled for Aug. 30 at Fairmount Cemetery in Denver.
Born June 15, 1943, in Denver, Mrs. Hauser developed her deep passion for creative expression from an early age. Throughout her life, she created art through multiple media, especially painting and photography. Her keen eye for beauty and texture was reflected not only in her work, but in the way she engaged with the world around her.
Mrs. Hauser was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 54 years, Charles Edward Hauser. Together, they built a life of adventure, culture and community. They traveled the world, supported the arts, and were active participants in the local community. Mrs. Hauser’s warmth, humor and generosity earned her strong, lifelong friendships.
Mrs. Hauser is survived by children Daniel (Michelle Barnard-Hauser) and Laura Megan Elisabeth Hauser; and granddaughter Abigail Mackenzie Hauser.
Richard Schwartz
Richard A. Schwartz passed away on June 25, 2026, at the age of 89. A service was held on June 30 at Volusia Memorial Park in Ormond Beach, Fla.
Mr. Schwartz was the father of Temple Shalom (Colorado Springs) member Jeannie Metz.
Born in Middletown, NY, Mr. Schwartz was a member of the Daytona Beach, Fla., legal community for over 50 years. He studied at CU Denver and the University of Toledo Law School. He was one of the first attorneys to practice Social Security Disability law and was instrumental in developing the way that attorney fees were structured for Social Security Disability cases.
Survivors are Mr. Schwartz’s wife Nanette, daughters Jeannie (Brian) Metz and Katherine (Ronnie) Schwartz; and grandchildren Jessica Metz, Robert Arthur Metz and Anderson Grey Reeves.
