Park has designated a segregated OU-certified onsite kitchen to provide kosher food to residents who want it, and uninterrupted service for 20,000 annual kosher Meals-On-Wheels. JEWISHcolorado made the announcement following an Oct. 7 meeting with community representatives in light of Shalom Park’s Sept. 19 decision to rescind its kashrut policy for all residents. The separate kitchen, put forth by Shalom Park President and CEO Dan Stenersen, was unanimously approved. Shalom Park has donated the space but will no longer prepare and oversee the meals. That role will be assumed by lead Shalom Park mashgiach Ira Indich, who will function as an independent operator and provide all the meals.
