Samuel Zeppelin

Samuel ZeppelinSamuel Zepelin, a highly decorated WW II veteran, passed away Sept. 30, 2008, in Denver. Rabbi Brian Field officiated at the graveside service held Oct. 2 at Rose Hill Cemetery. Feldman Mortuary made the arrangements.

Mr. Zepelin was born Feb. 1, 1913, in Bialystok, Russia. At the age of seven, he came to Denver with his mother Leah and grandmother Bluma to join his father Moshe.

He went to North High School, graduated DU, and also attended the University of Pennsylvania.

From 1942-1946, Mr. Zepelin served as a second lieutenant with the US Army Air Corps. in India and China.

He earned the American Service Medal, Asiatic Pacific Service Medal, WW II Victory Medal and Distinguished Unit Badge.

Mr. Zepelin married Dorothy Sedalnick on Dec. 25, 1949. Mrs. Zepelin passed away on Oct. 16, 1988.

After WW II, Mr. Zepelin owned a bar. He later worked as a bookkeeper.

He is survived by his children Larry (Judy) Zepelin, Wes (Susan Elliott) Zepelin and Elise Zepelin; and grandchildren Noah, Matthew, Stephanie and Spencer.
