Louise Ezra Kazzaz, former owner of Custom Travel Ltd., passed away May 30, 2012, in Aurora. Rabbi Jeffrey Kaye officiated at the June 1 service at Rodef Shalom. Interment followed at Mt. Nebo Cemetery. Feldman Mortuary made the arrangements.
Mrs. Kazzaz was born Dec. 12, 1929, in Baghdad, Iraq.
She married David Solomon Kazzaz on Nov. 21, 1950.
The couple lived in Jerusalem for four years before moving to Denver in 1954.
The owner of Custom Travel since 1977, Mrs. Kazzaz championed Israeli culture in this city.
She brought several Israeli celebrities to Denver, including singers Naomi Shemer and Ofra Haza and astronaut Ilan Ramon, and led numerous missions to Israel.
With the assistance of the Allied Jewish Federation, Mrs. Kazzaz initiated Denvers Yom Hazikaron and Israel Independence Day celebrations.
Mrs. Kazzaz is survived by her husband David Kazzaz; sons Daniel (Audrey) Kazzaz, Amos (Colleen) Kazzaz, Jeffrey (Susan Kazzaz) and Jerome Kazzaz; sisters Chatoon Levi and Bertha Saat and brothers Morris Kazzaz and Eli Kazzaz; grandchildren Rebbeca, Jeromy, Zachary, Tayla, Shira, Ariana, Zoe and Sarah; and great-grandson Eitan.
