Fred Slavsky

Fred Slavsky, a lifelong Denverite who belonged to the B’nai B’rith bowling league since its inception, passed away July 20, 2017, in Denver. Cantor Joel Lichterman officiated at the July 21 graveside service at Rose Hill Cemetery. Feldman Mortuary made the arrangements.

“Fred had a love of dogs and has owned a dog his entire life,” the family said. “He knew all the dogs in the neighborhood and their owners.”

Mr. Slavsky was born April 1, 1923, on the west side on Lowell Blvd.

He attended Cheltenham, Lake Junior and West High School.

From 1943 to 1945, Mr. Slavsky served with the US Army Air Corps during WW II.

He married Elaine Schwartz on March 18, 1952. They were married for 53 years until Mrs. Slavsky passed away on Jan. 16, 2005.

An electrician, Mr. Slavsky owned Mile High Electric with Sid Greenberg for 23 years and retired in 1988.

He belonged to the International Brotherhood of Electrical Works from 1948 until his death.

Mr. Slavsky loved bowling, golfing and working with stained glass.

A member of the B’nai B’rith Bowling League since its founding, he bowled until the age of 91 and still scored over 100.

Mr. Slavsky is survived by his children Nadine (Paul) Schiff, Jeff (Cheryle Buxton) Slavsky and Shelley (Jerry) Rotenberg; grandchildren Sam Schiff, Josh (Theresa DiMillo) Rotenberg and Channa (Alex) Schweid; and great-grandchild Solari.
