Shalom Cares, a provider of health services for seniors, invites the public to attend the Shalom Cares Wellness Center groundbreaking ceremony on Tuesday, July 26, 4-6 p.m.
The event will take place on the Shalom Park Campus, 14800 E. Belleview Dr., in Aurora.
Designed and built with donated funds as a community resource primarily for Medicare and Medicaid eligible clients, this wellness center will bring together traditional, progressive and natural approaches to health and wellness.
The 20,000 square foot facility will include :
Warm water aquatic therapy and exercise pool (7,250 sq. ft.), with fully accessible entry ramps for independent and wheelchair access, resistance current channel, lap lanes, group exercise area and a hot tub;
Rehabilitation therapy center (2,277 sq. ft.), providing physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy, with specialized equipment;
Cardio and aerobic gym (2,576 sq. ft.) furnished with specialized equipment for the senior population; and
A spa and salon offering cosmetology and massage therapy.
Shalom Cares says that the wellness center is unique in Denver due to its combination of health facilities, clinical and counseling services, educational programs, and recreational activities tailored for the aging population, all under one roof.
Several local organizations have expressed an interest in partnering with Shalom Cares in program delivery and utilization of the wellness center, including Aurora Center for Active Adults, Christian Living Communities, JFS, Parkinsons Association of the Rockies, Rocky Mountain MS Center and Volunteers of America.
