Was Israel right?

Was Israel right to board the flotilla earlier this week? Israel’s claim is that the ship was violating the Gaza blockade and as such it represented an act of aggression, as well as disregard for Israel’s governance. From the other side, the ship was carrying humanitarian aid, which many say not enough of is reaching Gazan citizens. Moreover, Israel’s raid did result in the death of nine people aboard the ship, which needless to see is tragic.

You can read IJN analysis on the website, both an IJN editorial and commentary from columnist Tehilla Goldberg. The ever diligent UN Watch has already participated in a related debate at the UN Human Rights Council, asking the latter to investigate the objectives of the flotilla organizers. We also found a great commentary from Middle East analyst Ronen Bergman, a Cambridge-educated analyst, who we’ve written about in the past.

As is expected, Israel’s actions have been widely condemned. What do you think? Was Israel right in its actions? Post your opinion below.

Israel needs to defend itself no matter what. Good video from UN Watch. This was an act of aggression!

Should this question even be asked? My only real concern is the “leadership” of The United States, or the lack there of.

Yes. The question needs to be asked. When people end up dead, question must be asked. Whether Israel is vindicated or not, well I’ll leave that up to the investigators.

Right, because any investigation held is sure to be fair and unbiased. Just like the Goldstone Report. Remember that one?
