When the future is looking uncertain at best, dismal at worst, it’s the right time to reflect on the glory days of the past.
Colorado Rockies fans got to do just that last week, as Larry Walker was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame.
Was there any Rockies player who was more fun, more energetic and more skilled than Larry Walker? Is there any former Rockie more deserving of being the first Rockies player inducted? Not in our book — even though Larry’s milestone brings to mind other Blake Street Bombers, like Todd Helton, Andres Galarraga and Vinny Castilla.
Congratulations Larry, and thank you. You’re the gift to Colorado that keeps on giving.
