Walk for Israel with JEWISHcolorado

JEWISHcolorado invites community members to show their support for Israel by joining together in a two-mile walk on Sunday, May 31, to celebrate the country’s 67th anniversary of independence.

The 2015 Walk for Israel is organized by JEWISHcolorado in collaboration with the Loup JCC.

The event is free for all participants. Pre-walk registration begins at 9 a.m. The kickoff celebration will take place at 9:30 a.m., and the walk will leave promptly at 10 a.m. from JCC Denver’s parking lot, 350 S. Dahlia St.

A post-walk celebration will follow featuring live music, Israeli games, activities and food.

Participants must register to be eligible to win a free trip to Israel featuring VIP hospitality in Ramat HaNegev, JEWISHcolorado’s partnership region in Israel.

The international roundtrip ticket is courtesy of El Al Airlines. Walkers must be present to win.

The walk is co-chaired by Dana Friedman, Sarah Lehrfield, Cindy Noam and Ronit Williamson.

“Colorado always has a strong turnout for this festive occasion — demonstrating our community’s ongoing commitment to Israel,” said Friedman.

“When our community comes together to walk 1,500 strong, the positive energy becomes contagious.”

Noam said, “We are fortunate to have a community that is involved in important events like the walk, strengthening Colorado’s connection to Israel and showing our strong support for Israel’s independence.

“I encourage everyone to bring their family, friends and co-workers so we can display our support in record numbers on Sunday, May 31.”
