Vivian Guzofsky, a dedicated volunteer, passed away Jan. 23, 2018, in Denver. Grandson Cheston Mizel officiated at the Jan. 26 service at Feldman Chapel. Interment followed at Mt. Nebo Cemetery. Feldman Mortuary made the arrangements.

“We all feel blessed to have had her in our lives,” her family said.

Mrs. Guzofsky was born April 28, 1928, in Chicago, Ill.

She moved to Boulder to attend CU, where she met her husband Harold Guzofsky. They raised three children in Denver.

Mrs. Guzofsky was involved in a number of charitable organizations in Denver, including the Kemp Center and the Children’s Diabetes Foundation.

Avid golfers, the couple spent their winters in Mazatlan, Mexico.

Mrs. Guzofsky, who hosted holiday meals and organized fundraisers throughout the community, became known as the Mayor of Mazatlan.

She also volunteered in the colonias, teaching arts and crafts to children and helping many individuals and families in the area.

Mr. Guzofsky predeceased his wife.

Mrs. Guzofsky is survived by her children Bonnie Guzofsky, Carol (Larry) Mizel and Cheryl Guzofsky; grandchildren Courtney Mizel, Cheston (Lara) Mizel, Brent Guzofsky, Nikki Guzofsky and Perri Guzofsky; and six great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her son Michael Guzofsky.
