VIP New Faces: Rabbi Amanda Schwartz

Amanda Schwartz, 35, grew up in Centennial as Amanda Schanfield, went through the Cherry Creek school system and grew up in Temple Sinai and Temple Micah, where she was the first child to have a Bar or Bat Mitzvah in 10 years. Schwartz attended Loyola Marymount in Los Angeles, CU-Boulder, Oxford in England and DU. She was ordained as a Conservative rabbi at Jewish Theological Seminary in New York in 2016. She came to the HEA as director of education in 2017. She and her husband Jason, a lawyer, have two children, Johanna, 4, and Judah, 10 months. Why the rabbinate?
