VIP New Faces: Lior Lapid

Lapid was born in Jerusalem in 1982. He moved to New Mexico in 1990 and returned to Israel in 1997 to teach chess to disadvantaged children in Kfar Saba. Lior earned a BA and an MA at New Mexico State in philosophy and political science. He’s married to Maria, who’s from Colombia. Describe your profession. I started PALS Chess Academy in 2012, and coaching chess remains my full-time career. PALS stands for “Play, Achieve, Learn, Succeed.” Our mission is to teach valuable academic and life skills through chess.
