VIP New Faces: Jodie Rubenstein

Rubenstein, 31, a newcomer to Denver, is the Mountain West regional director of J Street.  After graduating from Wesleyan University in 2009 with a BA in psychology, Rubenstein, a native of Alexandria, Va., spent a summer providing sexual health education to indigenous women and girls in Peru. She earned her MSW from Columbia University in 2011. She spent five months in south Tel Aviv working at the African Refugee Development Center, helping women from Eritrea and Sudan. In 2013, she became a campus organizer for J Street U. Prior to moving to Denver in April this year with her husband Alex Whitaker, Rubenstein was J Street’s regional director of the Capital Region and the South, based in Washington, DC.
