[dropcap]Like[/dropcap] a true lady, Adriane Greenberg, doesn’t reveal her age, but she assures me she’s under 40. The Colorado native has been a lay leader at JEWISHcolorado, starting in the Young Adult Department — she was YAD chair — and graduating to her current role of chairing women’s philanthropy, which at the recent Lion-Pom luncheon she said is JFNA’s fastest growing campaign. A member of Temple Sinai and HEA, she says that she and her family “also really enjoy Judaism Your Way and JOI.”
Why federation?
I believe that JEWISHcolorado is uniquely positioned to help Jews in Colorado, Israel and around the world. I enjoy being a part of an organization with strong leadership, such as CEO Renée Rockford, and a vision for the future of Jewish life in Colorado. I want to be part of a legacy and preserve a strong Jewish community for my children.
Why is working with women and developing opportunities for women so important to you?
It is important for women to show up at the table and have a strong voice. I believe women are change makers and peace makers who bring a different perspective to leadership.
Of the many initiatives you’ve been part of, can you share one that was especially important or meaningful for you?
The program YAD Family Shabbat. Whitney Chotin and I created a space in which families had an opportunity to come together to celebrate Shabbat. I wanted to create a space for my kids and the next generation to celebrate Shabbat with their peers and other families. The idea was to collaborate with synagogues and other Jewish organizations to highlight those organizations while creating an inclusive environment.
How did Oct. 7 impact your Jewish identity and your Jewish communal work?
Oct. 7 made me lean even further to my Judaism and connection to Israel. Israel became a bigger part of my life and is something I think about every day.
In addition to your community work and raising a family, do you also work professionally?
I am co-CEO of BeShareIt Match, a Jewish matchmaking company.
Where and what did you study?
Business at CU Boulder.
Why matchmaking?
Matchmaking is a passion for me and my business partner Meryl Suissa. We love helping people find love and find his or her bashert — intended — in the Jewish community.
We strive to create Jewish families to continue the Jewish religion and further grow the Jewish community. L’dor va dor — from generation to generation.
Are you active with any Jewish organizations aside from federation?
I volunteer with the Efshar Project and am currently part of the Wexner Heritage Program.
What is meaningful to you about being Jewish?
Being Jewish is my identity. Besides being a mom, it is the most important part of me. Being Jewish means a responsibility to repair the world.
Who has been an inspiring person in your life?
The Jewish people. After the horrendous attacks on Oct. 7, Ihave seen unity, strength and resilience in our people. That inspires me every day to be Jewish and continue the work I do to ensure there is a strong Jewish community in Colorado and Israel.

What do you do in your free time?
Spend time with my husband and kids, volunteer, travel and play tennis.
