Victor Samuel Stepsay, an official of the Sheet Metal Workers International Union, passed away Jan. 18, 2011, in Aurora.
Rabbi Salomon Gruenwald and Cantor Martin Goldstein officiated at the Jan. 20 graveside service at Golden Hill Cemetery. Feldman Mortuary made the arrangements.
Victor worked his way up from apprentice to vice president in charge of railroads, the family said. But his ultimate accomplishment was being a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
He will be remembered for passing on his honesty, integrity, generosity and kindness.
Mr. Stepsay was born Sept. 11, 1930, in Detroit, Mich. He moved to Denver when he was young and graduated North High School. He also attended DU.
Mr. Stepsay married Sophie Smith on Oct. 22, 1950.
A pipe fitter journeyman with the Denver and Rio Grande Railroad, he became an official of the Sheet Metal Workers International Union.
Mr. Stepsay is survived by his wife Sophie Stepsay; children Richard Stepsay, Jeff (Sherrie) Stepsay and Ilise (Randel) White; grandchildren Stephanie (Jason) Eikenberg, Cari Stepsay, Aimee (Eric) Hosman, Brandon White and Andrea White; and great-grandchildren Vince Smith, Savannah Smith and Dylan Hosman.Contributions may be made to the HEA.
