Turkey’s Erdogan’s crime against truth

Turkish Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan at a UNmeeting called Zionism a crime against humanity. Earth to Erdogan: The infamous Zionism=Racism resolution at the UN, introduced by Yasir Arafat in 1975, was repealed in 1991.

There is, however, no vote and no repeal on hatred; and, in the case of Turkey, no surprise. As the 100th anniversary of the Armenian genocide approaches, Turkey still denies it. The Ottoman Turks in WW I specialized in the first modern massive crime against humanity. Rather than recognize it, Turkey projects it onto others. Erdogan shows that this twisted mentality is still in play.

We’re waiting to see whether Ban Ki-moon, the UN Secretary General, condemns Erdogan; or whether, at the UN, it’s business as usual.
