AMY Toltz-Miller has been named chair of JEWISHcolorados board of directors. Toltz-Miller, who currently serves as development-campaign chair, will begin her two-year term on July 1.
Amy is an integral part of JEWISHcolorado, and her longstanding volunteer work, both locally and nationally, speaks for itself, says Nancy Gart, JEWISHcolorados current board co-chair. We are privileged and fortunate to have Amy take over the reigns in leading our esteemed board of directors.
Toltz-Miller, owner of Amy Toltz-Miller Custom Events, has been involved with JEWISHcolorado as a volunteer and as a donor since she was a young adult.
In 1999, Amy was recognized for her dedication to JEWISHcolorado and the broader Jewish community with the Charlotte B. Tucker Young Leadership Award. A decade later, her continued commitment earned her the Volunteer of the Year Award.
Her commitment to the mission of JEWISHcolorado and the community remains a fundamental part of who Toltz-Miller is today.
TOLTZ-MILLER has held several key positions on JEWISHcolorados board over the years, including development-campaign chair and Jewish Womens Philanthropy Center chair.
Toltz-Millers national portfolio includes JFNAs (Jewish Federations of North America) board of trustees, Prime Minister council campaign committee and philanthropic resources development cabinet.
She is also an alum of the national Young Leadership Cabinet.
Toltz-Millers service extend beyond JEWISHcolorado. She brings a perspective that impacts the entire community. We are grateful that she will serve as chair of our board, says Doug Seserman, JEWISHcolorado president and CEO.
Amys enthusiasm and passion differentiate her, adds Seserman.
I have watched her grow as a leader and a committed member of the Colorado Jewish community. With her fundraising skills and under her direction, our annual campaign has stabilized since the economic downturn in 2009 and is now poised for growth in the future.
Her energy and ability to get others involved is what makes her a great choice to chair our board.
Commenting on her new position, Toltz-Miller cites a quote from Chief Rabbi Jonathan Sacks that defines her view on giving back to the Jewish community:
Beneath the clamor of self-interest, a quieter voice within us whispers the deeper truth that the greatest gift is to be able to give.
HAVING worked with Amy throughout the years, I know she has the ideal qualities that will enable JEWISHcolorado to continue to have a positive and lasting effect on our community, says Ruth Malman, JEWISHcolorados current board co-chair.
As a pillar in our community, Amys skills and experience, combined with her love for the Jewish world make her the perfect person to lead our board.
Toltz-Miller is looking forward to the next chapter in her Jewish journey and commented about her new role by citing a favorite quote:
I found a fruitful world because my parents and grandparents planted it for me.
Likewise, I am planting for my children.
