Tobie Rosenberg, wife, mother, grandmother, sister and educator with an incredible passion for life, passed peacefully on Jan. 30, 2021, in Denver. She was 71. Rabbi Jamie Korngold officiated at the Feb. 2 graveside service at Golden Hill Cemetery. Feldman Mortuary made the arrangements.
“Tobie loved life,” the family said. “She was a life-long learner who loved to read, knit and sew, and spent hours in the backyard and patio of every home she owned. One of her favorite places was her condo in Dillon, where she spent many summers and enjoyed her grandchildren.
Mrs. Rosenberg was born on May 18, 1949, in Newark, NJ, to Eli Horowitz and Laura Krisiloff. She grew up in East Meadow and spent much of her time with her grandparents Izzy and Ida Krisiloff in Long Beach.
After graduating college with a degree in education, Mrs. Rosenberg moved to Los Angeles where she raised her daughters and taught elementary school.
She was one of the first teachers in the US to teach an inclusion program for children who were deaf.
On Dec. 30, 1988, she married Bob Rosenberg. The couple moved back to the East Coast, where she became a middle school reading teacher in Connecticut.
Mrs. Rosenberg moved to Colorado to spend her retirement with her grandchildren in 2015.
Mrs. Rosenberg developed a large social network of friends. She joined the “Chix with Stix” hiking group in her 60s and volunteered for the Democratic Party.
She volunteered at Bear Creek Lake Park and the Lakewood Cultural Center.
Tobie Rosenberg is survived by her husband Bob; daughters Lisa and Stacey; grandchildren Kellan, Raya, Kendall and Julian; and sisters Linda and Rhoda.
