Thomas Joseph Svoboda, a Denverite since 1973, passed away January 24, 2018, in Denver. Rabbi Bruce Dollin officiated at the Jan. 25 graveside service at Emanuel Cemetery. Feldman Mortuary made the arrangements.

“Tom loved jazz, dogs and politics, but most of all he loved his family,” his loved ones said. “He was a fine father and husband, and enriched all our lives.”

Mr. Svoboda was born Jan. 16, 1925, in Omaha, Neb.

He lived in Omaha and Chicago, Ill., before moving to Denver in 1973.

A student at Creighton Prep High School in Omaha, Mr. Svoboda attended Creighton University.

He served in the US Navy.

Mr. Svoboda, who worked in sales and marketing, met his future wife Sandra Goldberg Svoboda while employed by Boye Needle in Chicago.

They married on May 26, 1973.

Multiple companies recognized Mr. Svoboda’s excellence in sales.

He retired in 2000.

Mr. Svoboda is survived by his wife Sandra Svoboda of Denver; son Aaron (Valerie) Svoboda of Denver and daughter Esther (Doug) Anderson of Littleton.
