The genocide word

The word genocide has a specific meaning that describes horrific events governed by a certain intent. However, this word, like so many words these days, has been cheapened and reduced to a polemical shot across the bow. Pro-Israel advocates should retire the word from their vocabulary other than as a description of the Holocaust because its use today, even when accurate, merely invites polemical, inaccurate responses. “You’re guilty of genocide.” “No! You are!”

This empty level of discourse merely feeds into the oversimplified, non-substantive sloganeering — the intellectual bankrupcy — of so many of the anti-Semites and Israel haters today.
