He smuggled a handgun into Israel aboard a British Airways flight. He used the gun to kill a Jerusalem cab driver in 1997.
Two months later he killed one person near a Jewish settlement in the South Hebron Hills.
In 2006 he planted a bomb inside the Israeli police station in Eli, but it was discovered before it could go off. It would have killed many people.
In 2007 he planted another bomb near Bet Shemesh, Israel. A tractor driver set off the bomb and was injured.
In 2008 he planted a bomb at the entrance to the home of an Israeli professor, and wounded him.
Last March, he planted a bomb at the entrance to the house of two Israelis in Ariel.
Sounds like a Palestinian terrorist and a very skillful one doesnt it? Well, except for adding the word allegedly, it was worse. Disgracefully, it was an Israeli terrorist. A Jew. A killer. We have not even listed all of the crimes he is accused of.
Reportedly, Yaakov Jack Teitel did not even tell his wife about his deeds. We feel for her and their children, especially since police found near their home a sophisticated sniper rifle, an M15 machine gun, an M16 shortened automatic rifle, a Glock handgun and a Browning 9mm handgun. Allegedly, Teitel also used knives and other weapons.
Like all terrorists, Teitels methodology was absolutely simple: kill people. His victims, or potential victims, included Israeli leftists, messianics, Palestinians and others. In all instances, his victims were not armed.
If convicted police say he has already confessed Teitel will be a disgrace to the Jewish people, a living violation of the Torah, a detriment to prospects for peace, an incalculable gift to Arab propagandists, a failed father and a failed husband enormously selfish in sum, like every other terrorist, evil.
He alone is responsible for his deeds, but whenever such a Jew is discovered, however rarely that may be, it behooves all Jewish leaders and educators to reevaluate the messages they send and the communities they create. Somewhere along the way, Jewish ethics have been omitted or distorted.
