Lifetime Denver resident Terri (Payne) Thaler died on Oct. 17, 2021, at the age of 85. A private family service was held Oct. 21 at Golden Hill Cemetery, with Rabbi Steven Kaye officiating.
Mrs. Thaler was married to Gerald “Yank” Thaler for 48 years until his passing in early 2021.
Born and raised in Denver, Mrs. Thaler attended North High and her freshman year at CU Boulder. She loved reading, dance, theater, art, writing and music. Mrs. Thaler worked as a legal secretary for 25 years until she retired at the age of 70.
“She loved to laugh and always found the humor in life when times got tough,” Mrs. Thaler’s family said.
“Being a grandmother was the highlight of her golden years,” the family added.
Mrs. Thaler loved animals, and volunteered for the Cat Care Society for many years. After she retired, she became a storyteller for the Spellbinders organization.
“The children called her ‘Grandma Terri,”’ the family said, “and would scream with delight when she came into their classrooms.”
Terri Thaler is survived by her three children, Todd, Scott and Kelli; two grandchildren; and her brother and sister-in-law, Errol and Naomi Payne.
