Temple Sinai at 50

At 50, Temple Sinai is no longer the new kid on the block, yet it still exudes a fresh, youthful vibe.

When it was formed in 1967, America was experiencing a revolution, and Temple Sinai itself was a response to changing times. A good part of the Denver Jewish community was moving south. The time was right for a new synagogue in that rapidly developing part of Denver.

Also, Reform Judaism was beginning to change, growing into some of the ritual traditions that the movement had rejected in its formation and through a good part of the 20th century.

Temple Sinai was the answer to these changing times. The new synagogue was definitely Reform, but it had a new feel, a new vibe.

Credit goes to three couples who implored Rabbi Raymond Zwerin to stay in Denver and start the temple which he would lead for the next 40 years, leaving it in the good hands of Rabbis Rick and Susan Rheins.

Temple Sinai, keep growing!
