Tel Aviv terror attack leaves four dead [UPDATED]

TEL AVIV — A shooting attack occurred in the center of Tel aviv shortly after 9:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 8. Four were reported dead and four more seriously injured. The victims were transferred to Ichilov hospital.

The attack took place in the trendy Sarona Market, which is located across the street from the Israel Defense Forces headquarters.

On Wednesday, the four killed were named as Ido Ben-Aryeh, 42, from Ramat Gan; Ilana Nave, 39, from Tel Aviv; Dr. Michael Feige, 58, a sociologist at Ben-Gurion University in Beersheba; and Mila Mishayev, 32, from Rishon Lezion.

The two assailants were neutralized by police. They were identified as Khaled Muhammed Musa and Muhammed Ahmed Mkhamra, cousins from the Palstinian village of Yatta south of Hebron. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu ordered a blockade of the village.

Eyewitnesses said that the suspects were dressed haredi Jews, although the police have not confirmed that. others said they looked like “lawyers.”

The Hamas terror organization praised the attack on Twitter, calling it “heroic” and “the first of the surprises that await the Zionist enemy during the month of Ramadan.” The rival Palestinian Fatah party, headed by President Mahmoud Abbas, issued a statement describing the attack as a “reaction” to Israeli “violations against our people.”

Netanyahu went directly to Tel Aviv for an emergency meeting after landing on Wednesday at Ben Gurion airport, returning from a visit to Moscow.

Speaking Ichilov hospital, Tel Aviv Mayor Ron Huldai urged poeple to stay calm, and stay out of danger.

“Tomorrow please return to your daily lives, since this city is a symbol of sanity and strength iof character in the face of adversity.”
