Denver native and US Army veteran Stephen Reflow died on April 29, 2023. He was 79. A service was held on May 2 at Emanuel Cemetery, officiated by Rabbi Emily Hyatt. Feldman Mortuary made the arrangements.

Mr. Reflow grew up on Denver’s West Side, attending Cheltenham Elementary School, Lake Junior High and North High School. After high school Mr. Reflow joined the US Army; he was stationed overseas and guarded the DMZ in Korea.

Upon returning to Denver, Mr. Reflow embarked on a career in the grocery business, first working for Miller’s Supermarket, which became National Tea, and then Del Farm Supermarket. He then worked for Safeway, which is where he retired after 40 years.

Mr. Reflow came out of retirement to work at Sprouts, where he worked for 12 years.

“Steve had a dry and sarcastic sense of humor that made us laugh,” said Mr. Reflow’s wife Merrily.

“He liked to sing in the car but couldn’t carry a tune. His smile and laugh came by surprise and was often unexpected.

“He was a hard worker and the most unselfish person I’ve ever known.”

Survivors are wife Merrily; children Shani (Rich) Wilson, Nicole (John) Lewandowski and Bryan (Leslie Vincent) Reflow; grandchildren Taryn, Brandon, Dylan, Tyler, Ben and Alec; great-grandchild Quinn; brother Barry Reflow and sister Ilene (Mike) Warner; and brother-in-law of Barbara (the late Barry) Dunevitz, David (the late Gayle) Weinstein and Alan (the late Bonnie) Handler.
