In Stapleton, coming together after hate graffiti

 of Denver’s Stapleton neighborhood responded last weekend to Nazi-themed graffiti at the Isabella Bird Community School with soap, scrub brushes and messages of love and unity written on colorful heart-shaped signs. Swastikas, along with racist and anti-Semitic messages — according to news reports one was written in German, translated as “we are Hitler youth” — were spray-painted on doors, walls and playground equipment at the public elementary school, 26th Pl. and Kingston St., sometime on Saturday night, Nov. 19. One of the messages, “Die DJ Can,” painted in orange paint on metal doors at the school, was largely indecipherable as to its meaning, although there are several disc jockeys who use that moniker or one similar to it.
