Stanton Rosenbaum, a respected attorney for 55 years and ubiquitous member of Denver’s Jewish community, passed away on Oct. 23, 2020, in Denver. Rabbis Bruce Dollin and Salomon Gruenwald and Cantor Arielle Green officiated at the HEA chapel service on Oct. 25. Burial followed at Rose Hill Cemetery. Feldman Mortuary made the arrangements.
“Stanton always put his clients first, which became an example for younger lawyers to recommit to their own goals of responsibility, caring and always answering their phones,” the family said.
“Over the decades, he showed a remarkable dedication to his community, giving time, leadership, encouragement and financial backing to organizations, people and causes in which he believed.”
Mr. Rosenbaum was born in Denver to Louise and Charles Rosenbaum.
He attended Kemper Military School, earned his BA in political science at CU and later went to DU, where he received his JD in 1953.
Mr. Rosenbaum joined the US Air Force during the Korean conflict and worked with JAG (Judge Advocate General). He earned his MA in taxation at NYU.
He joined the law firm founded by his father Charles alongside his brother-in-law Micky Miller and Sam Goldberg, and later became senior partner in Isaacson Rosenbaum.
Mr. Rosenbaum was a guardian ad litem for children in the court system. A part-time faculty member at the DU law school, he also published a pamphlet for JEWISHcolorado’s endowment fund on wills and probates.
His Jewish and civic involvement includes the Colorado Developmental Disabilities Council; president and campaign chair, Allied Jewish Federation, (now JEWISHcolorado); the Denver County Judicial Nominating Committee; board of governors, Denver and Colorado Bar Assns; board member, ADL, Denver JCC, AJC and Rose Medical Center.
Mr. Rosenbaum’s honors include DU’s “Law Star” Outstanding Alumni Award, ADL’s Torch of Liberty Distinguished Community Service Award and, along with his wife Jane E Rosenbaum, JFS’ Jack Shapiro Community Service Award.
“He will be dearly missed for his humor, his sense of honor, his integrity, his sensitive heart and ethical way of living,” his loved ones said.
Stanton Rosenbaum is survived by Jane E Rosenbaum, his wife of 44 years; children Cathy (Ron) Thomas, Ari Rosenbaum and Danielle Rosenbaum; sister Louann (Micky) Miller; grandchildren Jason (Apryl) Thomas, Jonathan Thomas, Jeffrey (Nicole) Thomas and Jamie (Ryan Brewer) Thomas; and five great-grandchildren.
Sons Michael and Steven Rosenbaum predeceased their father.
