week, I had the misfortune of hearing President Obama’s last press conference. I say misfortune because there was one extremely upsetting thing he said, which highlighted perfectly just why it is that people don’t trust politicians. In listing his achievements during his eight-year tenure, the president said: “Over the past eight years no foreign terrorist organization has successfully executed an attack on our homeland that was directed from overseas.” This is political spin at its finest. First, by using the word “foreign,” it’s clear that President Obama is referring to Islamist terrorism, although that’s a phrase he notably abstains from using.
