Sophie Stepsay
Lifelong Hadassah member Sophie Stepsay passed away Jan. 7, 2022. She was 89. A service was held Jan. 11 at Golden Hill Cemetery, officiated by Rabbi Bruce Dollin and Cantor Marty Goldstein.
Mrs. Stepsay was a Denver native, born on June 2, 1932. She attended North High School. In 1950, she married Victor Stepsay; they were a couple until Mr. Stepsay’s death in 2011.
Mr. and Mrs. Stepsay traveled extensively, domestically and internationally.
“She loved playing Mah Jongg,” the family said, “and when dad passed she took his place at the poker game at the JCC.”
Mrs. Stepsay is survived by her children Richard Stepsay and Jeffrey (Sherrie) Stepsay; , six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her daughter Ilise (Randal) White.
