The JCC Sox

THE Denver Jewish Softball League wrapped up another successful season, Aug. 28, with 18 teams.

This year marked the second year of the league’s new system, with a more competitive Aleph division and a less competitive Bet division. Each year, two teams move up from the Bet to the Aleph division and vice versa.

The JCC Sox knocked off the two- time defending champion HEA-brews in the semifinals and went on to defeat the Rodef Shalom Men in Green handily in the championship of the Aleph division.

The YAD Balls

This is their second championship in four years.

Their captains are Yuri Tavbin and Steve Levine.

In the Bet division, the YAD Balls (JEWISHcolorado) staged a furious two-out rally to take down the Micah Motley Jews in the championship game.

Down to their final strike on multiple occasions, YAD was not to be denied in their second straight Bet championship appearance.
