Simon Rosenfeld, a machine operator for Beatrice Foods for 35 years, passed away Aug. 6, 2009, in Denver.
Mr. Rosenfeld was born Dec. 25, 1926, in Havana, Cuba. He lived in Miami and Chicago before moving to Denver.
He married Irene Cohen on July 14, 1948. Mrs. Rosenfeld passed away on May 5, 1996.
In Cuba, Mr. Rosenfeld worked with his father as a shoemaker, and became an artist-in-residence in Chicago.
He then worked as a machine operator at Beatrice Foods in Denver.
Recipient of numerous awards for his artwork, he was named as machine operator of the year six times by Beatrice Foods.
He retired in December, 1981.
Mr. Rosenfeld is survived by his children Alec Rosenfeld of Aurora and Anita Sullivan of Englewood; brother Morris Rosenfeld of Miami Beach, Fla.; and grandchildren Daniel and Beth Sullivan and Rachel Rosenfeld.
