Dr. Sidney Duman, a prominent Denver neurologist, passed away on July 16, 2008. He was 76 years old.
Rabbi Marc Gitler officiated at the service held on July 16, 2008 at EDOS. Feldman mortuary made the arrangements.
Dr. Duman married Roslyn Adelman, daughter of the late Rabbi Samuel Adelman. They were to have celebrated their 48th anniversary on Aug. 7.
Dr. Duman attended the CU Medical School and graduated in 1955 as the top graduate of his class. He was presented with the Gold-Headed Cane award by his instructors and classmates for his conscientious application to the acquisition of the scientific knowledge of his chosen profession, medicine.
Dr. Duman practiced medicine for 50 years. During those years he was a clinical professor of medicine and associate clinical professor of neurology at the CU School of Medicine. In 1986, he was selected as the teacher of the year at the university.
After his retirement, he opened his own cruise business, Cedar Cruises, and organized many conferences on cruise ships as well as travel for individuals and families.
Dr. Duman is survived by his wife Roslyn; children Daniel (Liz) Duman, Sheryl (Rabbi Benjamin Last), Tobi (Mutty) Weiss, and Stephen Duman; and 10 grandchildren.
