Sidney Cohn

Sidney CohnSidney Cohn, a veteran of WW II, passed away Dec. 3, 2008, in Denver. Rabbi Steven Kaye officiated at the graveside service at Fort Logan National Cemetery. Feldman Mortuary made the arrangements.

“He was a wonderfully gentle man with a smile on his face at all times,” the family said. “He was a happy person who strove to make others happy too.”

Mr. Cohn was born Dec. 20, 1917, in Chicago, Ill. He graduated high school and played baseball and basketball at college.

During WW II, he served with the Army Air Corp. in England as an airplane spotter.

Mr. Cohn married Celia Braun on Aug. 5, 1945, in Detroit, Mich.

A furniture owner and salesman, he retired in 1992.

Mr. Cohn is survived by his wife Celia Cohn; daughter Sandra Sarniak and son Daniel Cohn; sister Laura Schnayer; grandchildren Stacey Sarniak, Rebecca Sarniak and Sarah Cohn; and great-grandchild Owen Sarniak.
