Shirley Walkovitz

Shirley WalkovitzShirley Walkovitz, 86, a Denver native and longtime resident, passed away Oct. 19, 2008, in Denver. Rabbi David Zucker officiated at the Oct. 23 graveside service at Rose Hill Cemetery. Feldman Mortuary made the arrangements.

“She was everyone’s best friend and confidant,” the family said.

Mrs. Walkovitz was born Oct. 12, 1922, in Denver. She graduated North High in 1939.

Shirley Stoole married Sidney J. Walkovitz on March 16, 1940. Mr. Walkovitz passed away on Oct. 1, 1995.

A veterinary technician for the US Department of Agriculture for many years, Mrs. Walkovitz retired in 1983.

She was a lifetime member of Hadassah.

Mrs. Walkovitz is survived by her children Michelle Weissman and Steve (Joni) Walko of Denver; grandchildren Jason (Lisa) Walko and Cary Walko of Denver; and her sister Janice Newman of California.
