Shirley Price

Shirley “Tommy” Price, a riveter during WW II and an active member of the HEA, passed away Dec. 23, 2017, in Denver. Rabbis Bruce Dollin and Salomon Gruenwald and Cantor Martin Goldstein officiated at the Dec. 25 service at the HEA. Burial followed at Golden Hill Cemetery. Feldman Mortuary made the arrangements.

Mrs. Price was born Sept. 10, 1919, in Rahway, NJ, where she graduated high school.

During WW II, she was a riveter at a General Motors plant and worked on airplanes for the war effort.

A resident of Rahway and Carteret, NJ, Mrs. Price later moved to Denver.

She married Sol M. Price on Oct. 14, 1945. Mr. Price passed away on Dec. 21, 2006.

Mrs. Price worked as a bookkeeper in her family’s business and later at Price’s Men’s and Ladies’ Store in New Jersey.

She was employed at Fashion Bar in Denver and Aurora until 1977, when she retired.

A lifetime member of Hadassah, Mrs. Price belonged to Sisterhood at her New Jersey congregation as well as the HEA.

Shirley “Tommy” Price is survived by her son Neal (Michele) Price; grandchildren Lev (Ginger Licht) Price of Denver, Mikki (Dave) Scott of Texas, Gabriel (Elizabeth) Price of Broomfield, David Yarus of Miami Beach and Jordan (Rachel) Yarus of Houston; and great-grandchildren Emmi and Elanna Price, Lauren and Connor Scott, Lily and Violet Price and Benjamin Yarus.
