Shirley Engbar

Shirley Engbar, a Denver native and lifelong resident, passed away June 1, 2019, in Denver. Rabbis Bruce Dollin, Salomon Gruenwald and Kolby Morris-Dahary officiated at the June 4 service at the HEA. Interment followed at Mt. Nebo Cemetery. Feldman Mortuary made the arrangements.

“Shirley had a vivacious personality and always made people around her feel special and important,” the family said. “She made friends wherever she went.

“She treasured her children and embraced every moment with them. She especially loved her role as Ammie/Grandma, supporting all of her grandchildren and attending almost every event in their lives.

“She was the strongest, most courageous woman throughout her life and always had a positive attitude and outlook. She will be deeply missed by everyone who knew her and will be remembered fondly.”

Mrs. Engbar was born Oct. 14, 1935 in Denver.

She was married to Lee Engbar. He passed away on Oct. 30, 2013.

Mrs. Engbar is survived by her children Wendy (Jimmy) Miller, Steve Engbar and Robyn (Russ) Greenberg; and grandchildren Rachel, Alyssa and Ethan, Race and Coda, and Alexi, Max and Asher.
