Sheri Petteé, a writer for the Denver Post, passed away April 28, 2009, in Denver.
Rabbis Selwyn Franklin and Isaac Wasserman officiated at the April 30 service held at BMH-BJ. Interment followed at Mt. Nebo Cemetery. Feldman Mortuary made the arrangements.
Sheri was a genuine person and never had an unkind word to say, said daughter Tanya Alpert-Appel. She was loving, non-judgmental and will be deeply missed.
Mrs. Petteé was born Jan. 14, 1944, in Cincinnati, Ohio, and moved to Denver when she was 13.
A 1961 graduate of George Washington High, she majored in journalism at Metropolitan State College.
She married Harvey Alpert on Jan. 30, 1963. They later divorced.
In 1979, she married Cliff Petteé. They also divorced.
A certified graphologist, Mrs. Petteé was a gifted writer who loved to read.
Mrs. Petteé is survived by her children Scott (Sally) Alpert, Rod Alpert and Tanya Alpert-Appel (Brad Appel); mother Hannah Weindrop; and grandchildren Michael, Brian, Lexi, Jessica, Tyler, Eloise and Claire.
She was predeceased by her brother Rick Weindrop in 1973.
